{"id":100,"date":"2007-11-06T17:56:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-06T21:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cherryteresa.com\/wp\/2007\/11\/06\/funny-acronyms\/"},"modified":"2007-11-06T17:56:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-06T21:56:00","slug":"funny-acronyms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cherryteresa.com\/wp\/2007\/11\/06\/funny-acronyms\/","title":{"rendered":"Funny acronyms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The last entry I posted dealt with the fact that I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, or <b>S.A.D.<\/b> This had me thinking about funny acronyms.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>M.A.D.D.<\/b> &#8211; Mothers Against Drunk Driving<\/li>\n<li><b>F.A.G.S.<\/b> &#8211; Fathers Against Gay Sons (Okay, I made that up).<\/li>\n<li><b>C.O.N.D.O.M.<\/b> &#8211; College of Notre Dame of Maryland (Thanks to Justin for pointing this out to me).<\/li>\n<li><b>A.S.S.<\/b> &#8211; Account Service Specialist<\/li>\n<li><b>C.R.A.P.<\/b> &#8211; Christians Rallying Against Porn (Another one I made up).<\/li>\n<li><b>F.A.R.T.<\/b> &#8211; Fathers Against Rude Television (fictional, from the TV show Futurama).<\/li>\n<li><font size=\"-1\"><b>SCAMS<\/b> &#8211; Society of Christian and Mormon Studies<\/font><\/li>\n<li><b>WOGCLTC <\/b>&#8211; Women of God<b> <\/b>Changing Lives Through Christ. An organization started by Perri Nixon, a.k.a. <font face=\"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Pebbles. This is just funny because the acronym isn&#8217;t easy to remember and is ridiculous. <br \/><\/font><\/li>\n<li><font face=\"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><b>W.A.S.P<\/b>. &#8211; White Anglo-Saxon Protestant<br \/><\/font><\/li>\n<li><b>R.A.S.<\/b> syndrome &#8211; Redundant Acronym Syndrome syndrome<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li><b>ATM<\/b> machine &#8211; Automated Teller Machine machine<\/li>\n<li><b>HIV<\/b> virus &#8211; Human Immunodeficiency Virus virus<\/li>\n<li><b>PIN<\/b> number &#8211; Personal Identification Number number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last entry I posted dealt with the fact that I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, or S.A.D.
