A lot of my friends have been getting engaged recently. Most of them are close to my age.
Several Baltimore bands have reunited or are in the process of doing so. There are people who are old enough to be in their 20s but are still young enough to not have been around when these bands were big. They’ve never seen them.
The above are just two more reasons I know I am getting older. But I don’t care.
I am excited about the .click. reunion show on Monday, the 31st. I’m going to be tired as hell that night and the next day. (I have work all day. Then I have to go straight from my job to school. Then I’ll be heading to the show right after class is done. And oh yeah, I have to get up the next morning to work again). But it’ll be worth it. I got a preview of it the other day, and let me just say the show will be awesome. For a moment, I had almost forgotten that these guys hadn’t played together in almost 5 years (and some even more). I got a chance to meet Chris, who was cool. He was their guitarist and left in 1997 – before I had ever seen .click. So it’s going to be John on guitar/vocals (of course), Keith on bass, Aaron drumming… and then Chris playing guitar on the “failure” songs, and Marcio playing guitar on “re: construction” and “gently unraveling”. Too bad Eli is in Alabama and can’t be at the show to play bass on a couple songs. (He was their bassist after Keith quit to move to L.A.).
You know, looking back, it’s kind of funny that out of all of them, Keith was the one in that band who eventually went on to get signed, go on major tours, and get the closest to being famous. (I’m only kidding. A little).
Now if only Jepetto would reunite ( that’s not gonna happen – at least not anytime soon) and if Phil would not leave Lennex, I would be even happier.
