The last entry I posted dealt with the fact that I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, or S.A.D. This had me thinking about funny acronyms.
- M.A.D.D. – Mothers Against Drunk Driving
- F.A.G.S. – Fathers Against Gay Sons (Okay, I made that up).
- C.O.N.D.O.M. – College of Notre Dame of Maryland (Thanks to Justin for pointing this out to me).
- A.S.S. – Account Service Specialist
- C.R.A.P. – Christians Rallying Against Porn (Another one I made up).
- F.A.R.T. – Fathers Against Rude Television (fictional, from the TV show Futurama).
- SCAMS – Society of Christian and Mormon Studies
- WOGCLTC – Women of God Changing Lives Through Christ. An organization started by Perri Nixon, a.k.a. Pebbles. This is just funny because the acronym isn’t easy to remember and is ridiculous.
- W.A.S.P. – White Anglo-Saxon Protestant
- R.A.S. syndrome – Redundant Acronym Syndrome syndrome
- ATM machine – Automated Teller Machine machine
- HIV virus – Human Immunodeficiency Virus virus
- PIN number – Personal Identification Number number.
